The ASA’s World Initiative for Soy in Human Health program kicks off its 2025 Global Food Security dialogue in Guatemala this week. This year’s dialogue, Take Action for Guatemala Food Security, continues to be led by U.S. soybean growers. The dialogue convenes public and private organizations to discuss the connection between global food security and trade.
WISHH’s United Soybean Board-supported dialogue also features remarks from top officials from the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations and World Food Program USA. Multinational food companies also join to discuss ways to enhance supply chain connections for nutritious foods.
U.S. soy remains a protein powerhouse” said WISHH Chair Morey Hill, a farmer from Iowa. “I am glad to report that WISHH’s prior Global Food Security Dialogues have led to new strategic partnerships, so we are excited to hear from some of WISHH’s longstanding partners as well as potential future partners.”
WISHH has expanded its footprint to 29 countries across Latin America, sub-Saharan Africa, and Asia. Guatemala is one of the first countries that WISHH began working in after U.S. soybean farmers founded the program 25 years ago.
