ASA’s World Initiative for Soy in Human Health Program is collaborating with SNI Global for Soy Foods Month this April. SNI Global recognizes the value of U.S. soy in providing high-quality protein. Some of its content in April discusses the sustainable way that soy is grown. SNI Global’s Farming for the Future with Sustainable Practices factsheet can be found here.
U.S. sustainably grown soy also, like that discussed by SNI Global, provides the backbone of many supplemental food packets used for food security measures internationally. That includes the supplemental food packets produced by Edesia Nutrition. Additionally, WISHH continues to work with Edesia on a product that contains 25% more soy flour than earlier formulations. Adding more soy allows Edesia to reach more people, thanks to the combination being more cost effective than other ingredients.
